Submit your abstracts before January 31, 2015!
The registration system for abstracts for the IASS 2015 symposium on ‘Future Visions’ is now open!
You can find instructions and the registration system on our website. We welcome submissions from
industry and academia related to the theme of the conference or any of the sub-themes. We would
like to invite anyone with novel ideas in these areas. Please note that special sessions will be organised
related to Digital Technology and BIM, Lightweight Structures, Expo structures, Dutch Special Structures
and to the various working groups of the IASS.

Kenneth Snelson Keynote speaker at IASS 2015
The organisers of the IASS2015 conference are extremely proud that Kenneth Snelson
will be a keynote speaker at our conference. Kenneth is the founding father of Tensegrity
structures and has worked on many different sculptures and concepts of which the Needle
Tower is one of the most famous. More information on Kenneth Snelson and his art can be
found on his website.

Register for the Expo contest!
During the symposium and in the preceding months, 53 pavilions will be exhibited in the Muziekgebouw, at the waterfront and close to the city centre of Amsterdam. We invite you to submit a proposal for an innovative pavilion that can be realized and shown at the exhibition in the “Muziekgebouw”. The IASS will award the two most interesting pavilions. Please see our website for more information. Although we have decided to extend the formal deadline for submission to 1 January 2015, we kindly ask you to submit a design proposal together with the expo-submission-form at iass2015@kivi.nl. We are looking forward to meet you at the opening of the expo in July 2015 in Amsterdam.

 

ISOFF Invitation to symposium on Flexible Forming in AmsterdamThe International Society of Flexible Forming (ISOFF) will organize a 2 day conference and workshop beside the annual (IASS) conference. The symposium will take place from 17 to 18 August 2015 and the workshop at the 16 August in Amsterdam the Netherlands. More about the conference on our website or: www.fabricforming.org

Homelab 2050, deel 3

“De huizen die nu en in de nabije toekomst gebouwd worden, zullen er in 2050 nog staan. Gaan die voldoen aan de eisen en wensen van 2050? Houden we wel rekening met belangrijke zaken van de toekomst?”.

In een aantal bijeenkomsten willen we deze vraag systematisch behandelen. Veel huizen die na de oorlog gebouwd zijn voldoen nu niet meer aan de huidige normen en wensen. We willen in deze serie alle aspecten behandelen die belangrijk kunnen zijn voor de huizen van 2050. In de uitgebreide serie van EU2050Powerlab (2012 – 2013) (www.kivi.nl/eu2050powerlab) hebben we gezien hoe de energievoorziening van de huizen er in de toekomst zal uitzien en wat de vereiste energievraag zal zijn. Naast de energievraag zijn nog veel andere zaken van belang. Duurzaamheid in zijn geheel wordt van belang. Maar ook andere zaken zoals een gezond binnenklimaat in het huis en een huis dat makkelijk te bedienen en te onderhouden is.

In deze derde bijeenkomst van het programma Homelab2050 komt het leefmilieu aan de orde. De eis van een gezond binnenmilieu is belangrijk (rapport van de gezondheidsraad: “Een gezond binnenmilieu in de toekomst” (2013). We verblijven gemiddeld 14 uur per dag in huis. Vooral kleine kinderen, oudere mensen en zieken hebben daglicht en zuivere lucht nodig, vrij van ziektekiemen en luchtverontreinigingen. Gebruik van gevoelige sensoren voor een regelsysteem zal helpen. Nieuwe materialen en bouwmethoden kunnen in 2050 binnen- en buiten-milieu verbeteren en binnen een circulaire economie hernieuwbare woningbouw mogelijk maken. In deze derde bijeenkomst Homelab2050 zal besproken worden wat dit betekent.
